ABOUT ME

About Me

worship leader, songwriter, ministry coordinator

Here's a look at some of my work with worship, choirs, productions, workshops, and songwriting:

My family has been a musical one for generations. My grandfather sang in a gospel quartet, with their own radio show, when he wasn't working in the mill in Valley, Al. My Dad is a recently retired minister of music. My brothers, children, nieces and nephews also share in the family musical gene. Danny, my youngest brother is co-founder and long-time member of Smalltown Poets. He produced my worship album "Every Time I Breathe" and his son Noah did the electric guitar work. His daughter Dove also added her talents on "You Are My Father".

I enjoyed chorus and band through my school years, and was a choral director in public schools for a few years. I've been a worship leader in churches in Georgia, Alabama, and Louisiana, and in the mid 90s I travelled all over the Southeast leading worship for youth events. I've also made a living as an entertainer, singing and playing in restaurants, and producing and performing in music shows at local theaters. I've even written jingles for local TV and radio.

From 1998 to 2008 or so I helped lead worship twice each Sunday for the Infantry Training Brigade on Sand Hill at Fort Benning, mainly with the 119th and the 254th. It was awesome to hear those soldiers sing "Awesome God" every Sunday.

I'm married to Rhonda, the angel who rescued me. Between us we have five children, two dogs, a turtle, and most summers, two gardens.

Neil Stephens Worship

This site is about worship, worship music, worship lifestyle and . . . worship.  It's what believers do.

Listen to samples of the songs from the new worship album.  Download the (free) album, get some charts, and use them in your church.  Check back for new worship songs. Read some thoughts I have from time to time about worship and following Jesus.
